Privacy policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
This policy explains how Penguest, operated by Apes Solutions, Building 3A, Leganda Compound, Sheikh Zayed, Giza, Egypt, handles personal data. Contact us at support@penguest.app with any question about your data.
Data we collect from organizers
- Waitlist details: your email address and, if you choose to answer, the kind of events you run.
- Account details: name, email, organization and password.
- Billing details: handled by our reseller Paddle. We receive confirmation of payment but not your full card details.
- Usage information: how you use the service, collected to keep it secure and to improve it.
Website analytics
We use PostHog, hosted in the European Union, to understand how visitors use this website, such as which pages they view and which buttons they click. PostHog acts as our processor. We do not send it form contents or attendee data.
Data we process for organizers about attendees
When attendees register for an event, the organizer decides what information to collect. For that data the organizer is the data controller and we act as a processor, handling it only on the organizer's instructions and to run their event. Ticket payments are made through the organizer's own payment provider, and we do not store full card details.
How we use data
- To provide registration pages, payments, statistics and check-in.
- To send service emails such as registration confirmations and tickets.
- To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.
- To answer support requests.
We do not sell personal data.
Waitlist and emails
When you join the waitlist, we store your email address and your optional answer about the events you run with Loops, which acts as our email processor. We use them to tell you when Penguest opens and to send occasional updates about it. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your details at any time.
Who we share data with
We share data only with providers that help us run the service, such as hosting, email delivery, payment gateways connected by organizers, and Paddle for our own billing, PostHog (EU) for website analytics, and Loops for our waitlist and emails about Penguest. Each is bound to protect the data and use it only for that purpose.
Cookies
We use cookies needed to keep you signed in and the service working. For website analytics, we count visits without cookies until you choose: PostHog uses a privacy-preserving identifier generated on its servers instead. If you accept, PostHog sets cookies and uses local storage. If you decline, we keep counting visits without cookies. Once you choose, your browser stores your choice so we do not ask again. To change your choice, clear this site's data in your browser and choose again.
How long we keep data
We keep organizer account data while the account is open and for 24 months after it is closed. We keep waitlist email addresses until you unsubscribe or for 24 months, whichever comes first. We keep attendee data until the organizer asks us to delete it or for 24 months after the event, whichever comes first, and organizers can export or delete it at any time. We keep data longer only when the law requires us to.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data. Attendees should contact the event organizer first, since the organizer controls attendee data. We will help organizers respond to these requests.
Security
We use encryption in transit and access controls to protect data. No system is fully secure, and we will tell affected users about a breach where the law requires.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Changes
We may update this policy and will post the new version here with a new date.
